Living Without the -ving: Episode 1

Low self esteem is dangerous. It can really harm people. Once you have it, it either stays with you or comes and goes. It can never really go unless you surround yourself with people who uplift you so therefore you can uplift yourself. It took me 10 years to realise this. Which is sad.

I use to want to surround myself, when I was 13/14, with fake people. People who treated me badly seemed to attract me. It seemed that making people love was more important that treasuring people who already did. Till this day, I don’t understand why.

I had friends that would even insult me and belittle me, why did I stay amongst those people? Why did I empower them more and more. Because that’s simply all they wanted. They needed a weakling to feel superior.

But that’s not me anymore. I guess you have to go trough things to learn more things and know the difference between negative and positive energy. However, why did getting hurt have to be apart of it? I’d rather have been taught a life lesson in a classroom for like 3 hours than throughout my whole life and putting my esteem at risk.

Not only that but my life at home… I never understood why going through horrible things would make you feel stronger, because that’s one of things that I don’t feel. I feel tired and not motivated.

These are things that make me, me.

Or maybe I can change that. Eating better? Taking walks? Painting for no reason? Playing Sims 3? Going window shopping?
Okay. I’ll try that for next two weeks. We’ll see if things improve.

Till next time on ‘Living Without The -ving’…

CHICTOPIA MANIA !

These CHICTOPIA MANIA posts will be regular, as they will be posts about the website CHICTOPIA and the outfits people put up. I will be rating them, discussing them, talking about what I like and also what could be improved. I guess you could say I have my stylist hat on, but then again that's an errrdaay (lol) job.

Here we are with todays, Chictopia Likes :)

First off, we have a rocker outfit. It's definitely something to wear to go out to a dinner, however because of the boots chosen, it has made this outfit casual, but with that dressy edge. I believe that the studs are to give the leather jacket more of the biker feel. Which I must add, is a style that I LOVE! I'm glad the jacket, just has studs on the sleeves and not ALSO the collar, because otherwise it would've been a bit much. DIY or not, the studs look great!

I also REALLY, love the bag. But I would've preferred a different colour, since there's a lot of similar dark colours. Maybe a Khaki colour or even mint, white or cream?!

BTW! The denim is not a skirt, it's a dress!

I really love the lace at the bottom of the dress, giving the dress more of a subtle feel. It makes the denim look much more softer and delicate than it's usual feel.

However, the shoes are not a personal fave of mine. I have never been much of a cowboy boot fan. I've tried, I really have. But's it's NOT for me. Therefore, I would've prefer if she had worn Chelsea boots or Dr. Martens instead.

Overall, I love the outfit! (4/5)

Well, what more can I say? This outfit is amazeballs! INCLUDING her legs. Her Chictopia has to be one of my top favourites. The simple black top with the netted long sleeves with the laced up shorts add a very grunge touch to the whole outfit. I also love the collab with the catholic cross. And the hat really completes the outfit. I mean, imagine the outfit without the hat. Defo needed!

Again, by the same person, this very BOHEMIAN, I love the vibrant, yet similar, colours this outfit has. The burgandy, soft blues, magenta's and browns go extremely well. She is also using the same cross from the outfit before, again compliments the whole outfit. Her floral waistcoat contradicts the printed vest she is wearing, but yet they go very well together. I am a strong believer against mixing two patterns together unless you do it right, but she did very well, therefore I cannot say insult.

She picked the right colour boots, brown. For instance, if she used black it wouldn't have been bad, but it wouldn't have made the outfit as vibrant as it is now. You must always weigh shoe options.

For the third, and last time, we have another from  ARTINOURBLOOD who has another outfit with, what is very hot this season, a patterned mirror shirt. Underneath, she has a white collared shirt, which she studded herself. She is also wearing white petite socks and casual black, brown wedged heel, wedges. To make the whole outfit complete she also has the ear cuffed earings (which is also a popular accessory this season) and a nice bowler hat. I also adore the face that she is not wearing tights.

You may have realised, but in most, if not every outfit, she doesn't have a bag. I would accompany this outfit with a nice brown leather satchel. Small, medium preferably.

Who can make floral classy with a spice of edge? This girl can! With her sequinned dress, black ankle belted/lace up boots, red scarf to strengthen the outfit and her fabu feather earrings she shows that nothing can stop her! However, to her, this outfit is a casual and everyday outfit! With this outfit, I have to admit, the floral blazer was a dangerous touch to add, but she did gracefully. It definitely gave the outfit a girly side.

Also the background is great, but this close up of her (down below) makes you love her even more!

LAZY? As If?!

So, you guys have seen and experienced it. MY LAZINESS! If laziness could kill.... well let’s not entertain that comment. But in all seriousness, I have a serious problem. Everyday, I have said ‘now would be a great time to blog Asta’. But NO, my body wouldn’t do it. What a shame, huh?

Well I promise, I will make sure to blog more consistently.

Till then,
